I too have McIlroy ancestors (they changed to McElroy in the 1860s, I know not why). This family emmigrated to Canada abt. 1857, settling in Hamilton, Ont, CN. Children then dispersed throughout the USA and CN. Very interested in details on John (from Ballycastle) and wife Catherine Gage (supposedly from Rathlin Island).
