    3. Larry, Robert was the son of Howell McElroy and Dora Lane. Howell was the son of Felix Hiram McElroy and Sally Iles. Uncle "Hi" was the third and last child of William W. McElroy and his first wife, Queen Artemissa Boren. I have a lot of info on Howell's children that was added to my db in 2001. Do you want an update? I have also just gotten a text file on the descendants of Irene McElroy and Robert Greenwell. Irene was a daughter of John W. McElroy. I can send that as well, if you want it.     3. Does anyone know the parents of Robert Howell McElroy, b.8 Sept. 1911 in San Augustine County, Texas, d. 28 May 2001 Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches County, Texas. His wife was Melba Nell Mitchell; b. 11 July 1920, d. 23 Feb. 1999. Children are Robert E. McElroy, Charles T. McElroy, Sally McElroy Masters, Freddie Sue McElroy Lewis and Melba Lynn McElroy Lowman. He was my great great grandmother's brother. He was in Illinois around 1870-1890, but I don't know any more about him. I don't believe he was married. He was born in Ireland. His sister was Bridget. Bridget married a Welch and had two sons, Patrick, John and daughter Mary Ann. Let me know if this rings any bells. I have very little information on James McElroy.

Sherwood. William McElroy moved to Georgia from Greene County, New York. He was in the foundry business.

    3. I'm seeking information about the descendents of John McElroy, b. 1846, d. 1929. I think he was born in Ireland and came to Missouri. My paternal grandmother was Mary Ellen McElroy who married Leo or Leonard J. O'Brien, son of Captain John O'Brien m. to Jane Clifford. Mary Ellen and Leo lived in St.Louis,MO, perhaps after a short period in Newport, KY. Any info on these persons? Trying to put together ancestral data for my children and extended family for the holidays. Thanks. You know, there is probably no connection here, but it was a little tantalizing with the St. Louis, MO and KY connections. I haven't researched the son John, because I am a descendant of George b. 1858, but I know that one of the sons (according to the census) was born in KY and I know that George lived there for a short time before coming to Memphis. Just wanted to throw this out there in case anything rings a bell. I suspected this was my family long before I was able to prove it because of the given names of the children and was finally able to prove it through a death notice - so if anything rings a bell, let me know.
