Williamson in the war with Great Brittain, declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 that he volunteered, in Bedford County, Tennessee, and was mustered at Fayetteville Tenn. On or about the Twenty-eighth day of September A.D. eighteen hundred fourteen for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of Seven months and was honorably discharged at Nashville Tenn. On the twenty-eighth day of April A.D. eighteen hundred & fifteen, on account of expiration of term of service as will appear by (he having sold his discharge) the muster rolls of said company. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the County land to which he may be entitled under the "act granting County land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States," passed September 28, 1850. I just wanted to mention that I have papers ready to send for a supplemental application to join the National Society United States Daughters of 1812 on Avington Muckleroy (other spellings including mostly McIlroy) had Patriotic Service for the Revolutionary War and Served on a Jury as service for the War of 1812. Service for this organization begins directly after the close of the Revolutionary War. Hi, I have run into this question before. I am descended from Archibald McElroy, brother to Abigail, known as Gilly. Born 1788 in Wake Co NC, lived with family in Lincoln Co., married John Brown Buchanan about 1812, moved to Obion Co TN and from there at some point to TX. death sometime after 1860. I recalled some years ago someone had questions about her and I found they had a different Buchanan than I had. After living in Obion Co, probably not for very many years, she moved to TX. I have searched in the Obion Co census records and never found her. I assumed she moved after 1850 to Obion Co and from there before 1860. My gggrandmother, her niece and also a sister of hers, also moved to Obion Co sometime after 1850. They could have all moved there at the same time. I think the lady with whom I communicated some years ago wrote back and said she found she had a younger Abigail who married the other Buchanan. Not really certain but hope this helps. My material came from another descendent of the McElroys and also I found it in the library at Lincoln Co. TN. McElroy born in 1827 in Missouri. He had one for sure known brother born in 1822 in Kentucky -- John W. Someone has listed another brother as G.W. McElroy but said probably born about 1814 in Kentucky. We don't know who their parents were. Do you know if your G.W. had any brothers? John W. and William W. came to Sabine County Texas from Missouri. I wonder if there is any connection. Your G.W. named one of his sons Conrad and my William W. names my great grandfather Conrad Walls. All these Williams, Samuels, Johns are not unique but Conrad kinda is. Would love to hear from you.
