Leslie, Sorry for all the separate emails everyone. :) From what I've put in my files here, there are at least 5 William McElroys. I only have children listed on one, and his son Isaac was born in 1763, and I'm guessing most likely in NC. I have his children as Delilah, John Jones, Amy, Isaac Ransom, and Nancy. Does your Isaac fit into that? William isn't my direct line, his brother John is, so I don't have detailed info on William's line in here yet. I know there are several descendants of this particular William and Isaac on this list. That's all I can help with at this point. Steph
Leslie, What are the dates and places on your Isaac McElroy? Steph
Leslie, There are several people on this list who have the book. I know they will look up your person for you at the very least, if not copy the page for you. The gentleman who compiled the book is also on the list, although he doesn't get onto his computer much. You can get the book through the Latter Day Saints church on microfilm, if you have a Family History Center near you. They "rent" it from Utah for you. You usually can't interlibrary loan it because it falls under books that can't be checked out and such - research books, I guess. The gentleman who compiled the book lives in TX. There is a website, but I can't seem to find it right now. Hopefully, one of the book owners will see your email soon, and help you out. Stephanie << Has anyone ever heard of a book called "Family Adventures of John Mackelroy of Baltimore Co, Maryland 1690-1983" by David V. Muckleroy. There is supposed to be a reference in there that names Isaac McElroy (there were several) as a son on William McElroy. I am trying to get a copy of the page(s) that show this. I do not live near a large library, and my small town library will not do inter-library loans for those of us who don't live in the city limits. Thanks for any hints. Leslie Hill >>
Bill: Thanks much for that info. I'll try to get to Austin sometime soon, and check on that. Leslie Hill
