I too am a McCormick. I have been searching without any luck for information on my greatgrandfather Benjamin McCormick. The only information I have is his name of course and he came from Ireland where he was born in 1825. I don't know when he arrived in the states and married Eliza (perhaps)Phenel who was born in Tenn. One of their children, the oldest ,William, was born there. The other 3 were all born in Missouri. The third child,James Dempsey, was born in Texas county, Mo and the 4th Laclede co.Mo. He died Sept.1 1878 in the obit says native of Ireland never naturalized in U.S. any info would be Greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
