Wm. McCormick was born in 1844 in Halifax. He married Mary Nix (maybe Nixon or Nickerson) who was born in Ireland. They emigrated to Gloucester MA where William was employed as a stone cutter in the quarry. They had 7 children (Mary, John, William, Patrick, Lizzie, Bridget and James Henry (my g-grandfather). All of the children were born in Mass. 1868 or later. I have no information on when (or where) William and Mary were married and don't know anything about his parents or siblings. If anyone has ties to William or his family I'd love to hear from you.
