He and his wife, Ida J (Halbert) were on the 1900 Johnson Co., TX census record. Two young girls were listed as his stepdaughters. They were Bessie May, born 1890, and Edith P, born 1894, both born in TX. Their last names were Halbert. This family was also on the 1910 census for Erath Co., TX. Same information. John was born 1868 in MO, and Ida was born 1873 in TX. John and Ida born died in 1920 in OK. They are buried at Roosevelt, Kiowa Co.,OK. Edith married my uncle, James Horace McElroy, 1913, in Thurber, Erath Co., TX. They are both buried at Roosevelt, Kiowa Co., OK. The census states that the girl's father was born in TX. Also John McCormick's parents were born in IL. I will appreciate any help. Dortha McElroy Greenlee Marlita --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo!
