    3. Looking through my old mail and wondering why I saved this message. Maybe because I have a Arthur LaRue McCormick in my line. Are you the LaRue connected to Martin Force line that someone was working on in your family a few years ago? 1. McCormick - Loudoun,VA>Monroe,OH abt 1835
    2. S Edwards
    3. In the 1860 census for Meigs County, OH there are the following McCormick males (HOH): John G - 29 - born in OH - Salisbury (daughter Isabella) James - 30 - born in OH - Salisbury E P - 40 - born VA - Rutland John - 30 - born VA - Rutland G A - 30 - born VA - Rutland H C - 26 - born VA - Rutland R E - 40 - born OH - Syracuse GA is George Albert, and HC is Henry Clay - they are brothers. I believe their parents are Bernard and Isabella McCormick who were in Monroe County in 1840 and Grandview, Washington County in 1850. They moved from Loudoun County, VA to Monroe County, OH abt 1835. I believe that E P is actually T B (Thomas Bernard), another brother. In 1850 George was living with Thomas. Transcribed as "McConnic" but could easily be McCormic. Thomas' wife was Sarah and they had a son William, and his occupation was taylor - these fit with E P's information (EP ? TB - could the census taker misunderstood?) From the 1830 census (VA), 1840 (OH) and 1850 (OH) - Bernard and Isabella might have had as many as 16 children. Also, Isabella's father was Thomas. In 1850, two daughters, Sarah and Matilda were still living at home. Anyone have any information/connections on the McCormicks in Meigs County? It is possible that George and Henry are the only ones that stayed in Meigs. I believe that Thomas moved on to Indiana. Any help, suggestions, leads would be greatly apprecaited. 3. Beverly, No ---- Think my line stayed on the east coast. The only reason I wrote the note to Bill LaRue was we were on LRue Rd. NJ looking for the church my ggf preached in an old cemetery in search of brother Moses W. McCormick of Rev. William H. Someone had written me a letter a few years ago.
