I think she died sometime between 27 Oct 1958 (at that time I found her listed as a registered voter in Norris City, White County, Illinois) and the early 1960s. I lived there also until I was 8 (circa 1971). I never knew her. I know she had a brother, George, who also lived in Norris City, White County, Illinois. I vaguely remember an "aunt" Pearl from when I was a kid. Could this be your same Pearl? If so, please contact me at babsss@tampabay.rr.com. Thank you. Blanche Brantley

I see on the 1850 and 1860 Covington County, AL censuses (close to Conecuh and Crenshaw and Butler Counties) a William McCormick (spelling?) born about 1841 in the family of William and Polly/Mary Johnson. Because of the age differences, I would expect William and Polly were his grandparents. I conjecture that William and Polly were my ggg-grandparents. Thanks for any help. Ken Johnson Waynesboro, MS

    3. I have an Edith (Halbert) McCormick. She was born 1894, Morgan Mill, Erath Co., TX. She died 1940, Hobart, OK, and buried in Roosevelt, Kiowa Co., OK. When I first became interested in working on the family tree, I asked my dad what was Aunt Edith's maiden name and he told me it was McCormick. I have found census records a year or so ago, and in the household of John T McCormick, was his wife, Ida J (Josephine) McCormick. She was born 1873, in TX. On the 1900 and 1910 census' I find my Aunt Edith and her sister, Bessie May Halbert listed as step-daughters to John McCormick. I don't know if my dad didn't realize Aunt Edith wasn't born a McCormick, or if he thought that was all I needed to know!! (grin) This won't help you, I just thought it was interesting you are working on the same names as I am, just different locations. Dortha
