    1. McCormick roll call
    2. Hello Listers, In response to McCormick roll call I will add what I know of my McCormicks. My grgrgrgrandmother was Ellen McCormick born in 1834 in New Haven Vt. Her parents were John McCormick and Elizabeth Mulligan both originally from Ireland. I believe Elizabeth came to NY in 1832. I think she was aboard Barque Mary and arrived in NY May 8, 1832. That ship left Ireland, went to England and final destination was NY. There is a passenger of that ship listed by her name, age 22. Elizabeth Mulligan was born abt 1809-1810. i don't know whether John McCormick and Elizabeth Mulligan had any children other than Ellen. Ellen McCormick married Dexter Harrington 1 Apr 1849 in Berkshire County, MA. They had seven children. Ellen McCormick Harrington died in N. Adams, MA. 29 Sep 1915. Any info you could provide me on any of the above mentioned McCormicks would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Renne Harrington

    1. Re: McCormick Family
    2. My McCormick's have their origins in Ireland then to Pennsylvania and Virginia, ending up in West Tennessee and into Texas. My GGGgrandfather, John was born in 1823 in Tennessee, married Sophia CULVER in 1843 in Maury Co., Tennessee. They moved to Decatur County and were there in the 1850 Census, and in Henderson County in the 1870 Census. Sophia died before 1880, and John in 1884. Their children all moved to Henry County, Tennessee where their descendants still live today. 3. This John McCormick married Ida Josephine Halbert in 1898. They are on the 1900 Johnson Co., TX census and also 1910, Erath Co., TX census. Living with them are two daughters of Ida: Bessie May, born 1890, and Edith P, born 1894. They were listed as John's step daughters. On the 1910 census it lists John as born in MO and his parents were born in IL. When I first became interested in our family tree I asked my dad for Aunt Edith's maiden name and he told me it was McCormick. She married my dad's brother, (James) Hubert McElroy. (Uncle Hubert). The McCormicks and Hubert and Edith McElroy are buried in Roosevelt, Kiowa Co., OK Cemetery. Dortha McElroy Greenlee
