I find the name McCormick is spelled differently in almost every census. (McCormack, McCormas as examples) Not sure if we match up but..we both have an Elizabeth D born about the same time (mine was abt 1846 in Kentucky). I wonder if Robert McCormick, b abt 1820 in Kentucky could be somehow related to your older William S. Very interesting that they all ended up in Ray County Missouri and then Kansas. A lot of the Kirklands (Perry Kirkland married Angeline Frances McCormick) were/are in the Olathe area. What I have is: (mainly from census records) Robert McCormick, b abt 1820 in Kentucky married to a Sarah E ? b abt 1843 in Kentucky. Children were: 1. Rachel A McCormick b abt 1843 in Kentucky 2. Sarah J McCormick b abt 1844 in Kentucky 3. Elizabeth D McCormick b abt 1846 in Kentucky Married to H. W. Clarke b abt 1840 in Each or East Tennessee Child Lilly-Bell Clarke b abt 1873 in Kansas 4. Mary G McCormick b Dec 1848 in Kentucky This child I am unsure about. Just discovered her living with her mother Sarah E in 1900 census in District 88, Henderson, Lewis Cnty, Kentucky. Did not find her with the family in 1850 census. Did someone else raise her or ??? 5. John W. H. McCormick b. March 1850 6. Angeline Frances McCormick b. 10 Dec 1853, Ray County, MO d 23 May, 1919, Junction City, Geary, KS She would be my great-great grandmother. Married Perry Smith Kirkland on 31 March 1870 (I think in Muncie Kansas) Perry Smith - b. 7 Jan 1844 in Fayetteville, AL, d. 28 Mar 1926 in Junction City, Geary, KS I have lots of information from this line 7. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: McCormick, Johnson, Hamil, Dronenberg Classification: biography Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.mccormick/1740.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My ancestor, William S. McCormick was married to Susanna Hammel/Hamel/Hamal. They may be found in the Hallock Township, Peoria County, IL 1860 census with the misspelled name "McCormisk". McCormick came from Kings County (according to a paid researcher; I have doubts now about all New York City Family information), Brooklyn, NY. Susana is listed as coming from Illinois. Williams' Father, also William S., is said to have immigrated from Ireland. He married a Caroline (1813-??)from NH (no last name given) workeed for his Daughter Carolines Husband, Abner Richards at Richards New York City Shoe Factory as a Mechanic(??). Two of their Female children (Caroline Richards nee McCormick and Sister Elizabeth D. McCormick 1851 - 1889)) are found in various New York documents(Brooklyn and Manhattan). and the New York Times. The Son, "William S." from the first paragraph moved to ??? then to Hallock Township, Peoria County, IL and later to Hardin, Ray county, Missouri and he was my Great Great Grandfather. His Son married Eve Dronenberg of Norborne, Carrol County (Eve Dronenbergs Father William was from Frederick Mariland and served in the 15th Cav (Reeves)Confederate as a Blacksmith and Trooper. Eve's Son; my Grandfather "Henry Roy" was a Railroad Fireman in Kansas City until he lost a leg in a train yard collision at or around Kansas City Stockyards. He later owned a Tavern at 6th & Central in KCK until his death c. 1941. My Father Charles E. McCormick was in Army Basic Training at Jefferson Barracks, St Louis Missouri at that time so Roy must have died aroound February-March-April 1941. Dad (Charles E.) died two years ago. According to my Sister Maureen the name on Dad's Birth Certificate is "Joseph". Dad said it was common in those days for Doctors to put their own first name on a babies bir! th certificate. He also had a Brother Rob and a Sister Geraldine Jackson nee McCormick. Both are dead. The Jacksons, my Cousins, live in the area from Olathe Kansas to Ft. Scott Kansas. The information in this paragraph and the next I am 100% certain of, since it is recent family history. The remains of most of my Hardin McCormick Family washed away in a flood some years ago. As far as I know I am the last living male in my line. Faye Johnson of Hardin is said to be a relative and was living there the last time I was in Hardin - 5 to 7 years ago. I do have most of my tree in the U.S. if it is pertinent to your interest. Mike McCormick Legal Name: Charles Edward McCormick II Major, U.S. Army (Retired) b: 2 August, 1947 West Bend, WI

It is in pdf format so you'll have to have or download the free version of Adobe Acrobat reader. I'll see if I can convert it to a jpeg so everyone can open it with their picture handling program. I'll let you know if I succeed. It concerns the very early Irish family.
