Ward McConnell Sr, 80, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Prattsburgh, died Sep 1, 1984 in Florida. He was born in the Township of Italy April 15, 1904, son of Wesley and Alta Fisher McConnell. He resided in Prattsburg for 70 years, where he owned and operated his own farm and for many years was owner of the Prattsburg Bus Corp. He was a member of the Prattsburg Presbyterian Church and the Prattsburg Masonic Lodge. His wife, Edith, died in April after an automobile accident in Zephyrhills. (Edith Louise Smith) Surviving are a son, J. Ward McConnell Jr. of Kinston, NC; two daughters, Muriel Bucci of Nunda and Meredith Sculli of Las Vegas, Nev; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Calling hours at the Bottoni Funeral Home in Prattsburg are Friday 3-5 and 7-9 pm Masonic services will be there Friday at 8pm Services will be Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home, the Rev. Paul Altaner officiating. Burial will be in Prattsburg Rural Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the family to establish a Ward and Edith McConnell lifetime memorial in Prattsburg.
