    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bennett, McConnell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DVz.2ACEB/1797.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Last summer I had the chance to do some research in Rochester, NY. The Rundel library there has a microfiche copy of the NY state vital records index. I found 3 McConnell references that may be yours. If so, I would be interested in hearing where they fit in. I do not have the actual certificates, just the information from the index. There was a William McConnell or MacConnell who died in Newburgh in 1918 on the 30th of Jan or Jun. State death certificate # 41713. A Margaret McConnell died in Newburgh on 15 Sep 1921, state death certificate # 49072. There was also an Ann, Anna, or Annie McConnell married in Warwick on 11 Aug 1884. I called the town clerk's office and the lady there was very nice, but told me that I needed the groom's name to help them find the certificate. The Annie I was looking for was married to an Edwin or Edward Bennett, I think by the early 1890s, but the clerk tried to find the certificate under the name Bennett and was unsuccessful. So a little later I was looking at your William and Margaret's family in the census and thinking that maybe this was their daughter's marriage. Or perhaps my Annie was married to another man before the marriage to Edward or Edwin Bennett. It is probably possible to get a copy of the certificate through the state without the groom's name, but it would probably take a couple of months. State marriage certificate # 7265 I would love to find out more about my Annie. She was living in Edison (probably the one in Sussex County, not the larger, better known town) with her husband by September 14, 1892. I can't rule out the possibility that some of these McConnells are mine, so would be interested in anything you might know about them.
