She was James McConnell's (and Eliz) daughter, Martha McConnell. Martha born about 1750, Eliz died before 1764 and James died 1764, left will, naming children James, Eliz, Jean, Martha. Archibald was William (Buck) McConnell's (and Jane Cole) son. Arch born abt 1740 (where did that 1747 birth date come from anyway?) So, Archibald and Martha were first cousins, he about 10 years older than she. Both surnames McConnell. This better explains how he was old enough to buy land in 1761 (he was 21, not 14) and then he married his cousin Martha in 1768 when she was 18, and they were both in Iredell County, North Carolina. I'm not an internet genealogist, been at it about 30 years, and Martha's origin has been sought after (at least by me) for most of that 30 years. Yahoo!!

Some of the family names are similar to my late husband's Joseph McConnell b. Ireland or Scotland d. 1840 Georgia, who was a Rev. soldier. He married Mary McCurdy, and she was born abt 1763 Rathlin Island, Antrim, Ireland... Anyone know anything about Joseph's siblings, parents, etc.?
