Actually, I'm not related to the McConnells either, but I live in Shamokin and am researching various prominent families in the area. You can find a lot of information about W. C. McConnell at this link: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/northumberland/bios2/f096123.txt It is a transcription of Floyd's Genealogical and Biographical Annals of Northumberland County, 1911. (McConnell is mentioned somewhere around the middle of the page.) If it's the mansion you're interested in, I don't know much except that it wasn't built by W. C. McConnell, but more likely by someone in his wife's family (Martz), and was demolished in the 1970's. Let me know if you'd like further info; I have plenty!
