Later I discovered my mistake and reposted to the Donaldson board. I apologize for any confusion caused, and didn't mean to clutter the mailboxes of people on the McConnell mailing list. I have made similar posts on some of the boards for some of the most common McDonald surname variants, but I'm sure that I have missed some of the boards for some of the less common Clan Donald names, including both variants of the name McDonald and names that are not variants of the name McDonald, but are linked to the MacDonald/McDonald clan. If you have matches or near matches with one of these surnames, or are generally interested in informing men eligible to join the project about their opportunities for joining, you may want to make one or more similar posts to appropriate surname boards and lists, and perhaps also to appropriate geographical area boards and mailing lists.
