However, the primary source I have (written by Charles Martin and researched by Lake F. Compton) does not pursue spouses of McConnells in subsequent marriages after their husbands die. That does not mean there is not a knowledge in the family about them, but more focus was paid to the family line. One person I know of who may be able to help you is Wayne G. McConnell of Scott County. He is VERY active in genealogy about the family. The Scott County clan is very connected and has a re-union every year (They call it a Hooley). I am connected as a descendant of Thomas James McConnell, son of George's brother, Nancy (sometimes see also as Ann) who had the son out of wedlock. She later married a Dingus, but there is a line of McConnells running from him. Wayne's address is 110 Embar Road, Gate City, Virginia 24251-3509. If anyone is knowledgeable about this or would know who is, Wayne is your best bet. He can tell you where every McConnell who lived in Scott County since they migrated here is buried.
