Book, of near Princeton, died about 10 o'clock last night as a result of being trampled and kicked by a horse, in the barn on his farm, earlier in the evening. He was alone in the barn when he was kicked and knocked down. Discovery of his plight was made by a daughter, who went to the barn about 7 o'clock to find out why he did not return to his home. He was still living but had been terribly namgled and his skull had been fractured. He died a short time later. Mr. Book was born in 1860 and was the son of William and Nancy Book. He had been a farmer in Slippery Rock township for a number of years. In 1891, he married Elizabeth McConnell. She preceded him in death by several years. His children, Mrs. Etta Young, Mrs. Nancy Blair, Nellie, Ida, Norman and Clyde, all at home, survive him. He is also survived by his sisters, Miss Adeline Book, Mrs. Minnie Pence, Mrs. Mary White, Mis Viola Book, and one brother, Walker Book. He was a member of the Oak Grove U. P. church. The funeral service will be held at his residence at 1 p.m. Friday. Interment will be made at the Herman cemetery. Rev. Offitt will conduct the services. NOTE: His parents were William & Nancy (Taylor) Book. His wife was Elizabeth Nancy McConnell who died when Clyde was born. His children were Nella Blanche w/m a Rhodes; Ida May w/m an Allison; Marietta w/m a Young; Norman Walker Book; Nancy Olive w/m Robert F. Blair; Clyde W. Book.
