John Elder McConnell was married to Hannah who was daughter of William Elder, whose father John Elder(b-1755 and emigrated from N Ireland about 1802 to Slipery Rock Twnp Mercer County, Pa.), whose father was Thomas Elder. I have about 30 other names of kin and marriage partners. The 4th generation John Elder (B 9-2-1820)was a partner with Michael Jordan in a store in Harlensberg, Pa. Michael Jordan is the brother of Henry Jordan Jr. Henry's granddaughter married William Carlon McConnell. The families lived on adjacent farms. Another cross tie is that Dorcas Wilken (B 1821) married William Elder and their daughter Hannah married John Elder McConnell. The Wilkens family were married into the Harlan, Orr, and Water families.
