G. McCONNELL The wedding of Miss Vera Faye Jefferson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jefferson of Sheffield, PA, and Cargill G. McConnell of this city was solemnized Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the home of Mr. McConnell's sister, Mrs. H. B. Williams of Spruce street. Rev. E. A. Crooks, pastor of the Reformed Presbyterian church officiated and the ring ceremony was used. Only members of the immediate family and a few friends were present. The bride was attractively gowned in a dress of white silk crepe and carried a shower bouquet of white bride's roses and valley lilies. Miss Helen McConnell, sister of the groom attended Miss Jefferson and was dressed in grey silk crepe. Ralph Williams attended the groom. Following the ceremonies a buffet lunch was served to about 30 guests in the Williams home and the aids were Mrs. A. L. McCullom and Mrs. Stemple. Fall flowers were attractively arranged throughout the home. Later Mr. and Mrs. McConnell left for a wedding trip to Sheffield where they will visit with the bride's parents for a few days and will leave then for an extended eastern motor trip. They will be at home in Salem, O., after September 15. Mrs. McConnell is a graduate of Laquin high school, Mansfield Normal school and was an instructor in New Castle public schools for four years. For the past year she has been training in the Youngstown city hospital. Mr. McConnell attended New Castle high school and is employed as engineer with the Pennsylvania and Ohio Electric company in Salem Ohio. Out of town guests present were Misses Vada and Marguerite Jefferson and Lorainne Anison of Sheffield, Pa. NOTE: Cargill McConnell is s/o William Henry and Margaret May (Gardner) McConnell, both deceased at the time of his wedding. Cargill and Vera had 5 children together.
