STEWART B. McCONNELL Mrs. Frances Mina McConnell, aged 89, widow of the late Stewart B. McConnell, died at 8:30 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Betty Simison, 201 North Walnut St. due to infirmities of age. Born in Plain Grove Twp. Lawrence Co., February 10, 1866, she was a daughter of the late William and Nancy McConnell Bozell. Her husband, Stewart B. McConnell, died in 1945. She had resided here for the past eight years coming from the Volant area. Mrs. McConnell was a member of the Plain Grove Presbyterian church and the Berean Bible class. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edith Morris, this city, Mrs. Amy Smith, Struthers, O.; Mrs. Betty Simison, this city; two sons, Earl of Ashtabula, O.; James at home; one sister, Mrs. Anna Allen, Sharon; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Cunningham Funeral Home, E. Washington St. at Chestnut in charge of Rev. Marshall j. McCleery pastor of the Arlington Ave. Free Methodist church. Interment will follow in Plain Grove Presbyterian cemetery. The family will meet friends in the funeral home on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7 to 9 o'clock. NOTE: Her full name was Frances Armina "Mina" Boozel McConnell. The maiden name appears with so many spellings, I am not sure which is correct. Stewart Benoni McConnell was her husband's name. I remember her from my childhood. She was a short woman, barely 5 ft. tall with a lot of white hair piled up on top of her head in a knot.
