My Dennis McConnell settled in what is now Lawrence County, Pa in 1792 and before that, we think was in the Washington County, Pa. 1790 census, which means he was somewhere in Western Pa. His wife was Bridget and by family memory had 21 children and emigrated from Antrim Ireland. I can account for 2 boys and 6 girls (They were in Dennis's will) and possibly 2 other sons based only on contiguous record lines of the 1790 census records. I am trolling for an oldest son ,who might also be named Dennis, who would have been grown enough to set up his own household when the elder Dennis went west to the Pa. Indian country. I am hoping that the Scotch Irish custom of using a limited number Christian names in each generation will produce a lead from someone's family history. Based on the youngest child age in the census and the span of Bridget's fertility, we infer that Dennis and Bridget were born about 1754. Any information on Dennis McConnell or McConnelly would be greatly appreciated.
