This suit concerned property in the township of Greenwich in Gloucester County. Dennis McConnelly was one of the defendants in the suit and was listed as the tenant in possession of the property, and a Richard Fen was a co-defendant. John Den and James Stratton Esquire were listed as plaintiffs. The suit was an ejectment suit. From something that I have read, these suits were filed to force the occupants of lands to prove their titles to those lands. If they could not, they were ejected, and the plaintiffs might be able to claim the land, perhaps even if they could not prove their own title. I have about four pages of court documents, and if you are interested in them, I can scan them and send them to you. Are you also aware of a McConnell - Dare couple from New Jersey? I believe his name was Dennis and a Dare family book that may be found online has a little information on this couple. The dates are not in front of me; they may or may not work for your family, but I do know that this couple was around during the 1700s.
