I contacted you because, Sarah McConnell Kerr, named her first child William, second child Robert Alexander, are these family names a coincidence?
Looking for info on an Alexander George McConnell. He was born in 1864 in Monaghan, Co. Monaghan, Ireland and left sometime for America where he died in 1930s. His father's name was William McConnell, mother was Margaret. He had a brother William, and 2 sisters, Sarah, and Margaret who all remained in Ireland. Recently a friend of mine died, and while going through her belongings, her daughter found a packet of family pictures marked "for the family of Rachel Nichols." We are hoping that someone who reads this post can help reunite these photos with their owners. Here is what we know about Rachel Nichols. She was born Rachel MCCONNELL, d/o Ray "Mack" MCCONNELL. Rachel lived and died in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN. She was married to Guy Nichols, a fighter pilot who died in combat while in the military service of our country. Rachel and Guy had two daughters: Barbara and Janet Sue "Janey." The last known address for this family was 4996 Judy Lynn, Memphis, TN 38118; phone number was 794-2455. Maybe your Alex and my Ainslie came to Ontario together from Ireland - I will keep your information and watch for your Alex as I do my research. HI Jim, Somehow we have mis- communicated (is that a word ?). I do not have a Jessie McConnell or any McConnells from Pennsylvania. My McConnells arrived Ontario from, I believe, Ireland and my direct line all stayed and migrated across Canada with stops in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia. William Thomas McConnell born approx 1802 Ireland married (?) Clark, they had Amos Ainslie McConnell born approx 1832 Ireland married Mary Jane McCobe (sp), they had William Thomas McConnell born 1860 Ontario married 1885 to Emma May Kerr. They had ten children Gertrude, George (my grandfather), Emily, Sylvester, Amos, Olive, Maurice, Gordon, Antoinette, and Angus. I am sorry that I can't be of any help to you and your line but I will certainly keep you in mind as I do my research as I hope you will watch for any of my ancestor connections also. HI, My ggrandfather, William Holmes McCONNELL, born 16 Sep 1836-died 6 Nov 1903, married Sarah Jane MURRAY, born 15 Dec 1848-died 17 Feb 1933, on 22 Oct 1879. Sarah had a daughter named Margaret Susie MURRAY, born 25 Apr 1873. This indicates to me that Sarah Jane had been married before, but I have been unable to find the record. I would really love to know Sarah Jane's maiden name. Does anyone recognize my ggrandmother? Kathi
