My g-grandfather Stewart McConnell lived on Jordan Rd. in the Harlansburg area many years ago. It must have been named for the Jordans you mentioned. Out of frustration in trying to figure out which McConnell was which, I looked up all of them in the Lawrence/Mercer/Butler Co. area. So I do have many of the names you mentioned, and know who some of them belong to. Stewart's mother was Mary Ann English McConnell (wife of Benoni) Gibson. Her second husband, John Gibson, had a first wife named Hannah McConnell. I believe she was the daughter of John and Adelaid Moore McConnell. Do you know if that was correct? John Elder McConnell was married to Hannah who was daughter of William Elder, whose father John Elder(b-1755 and emigrated from N Ireland about 1802 to Slipery Rock Twnp Mercer County, Pa.), whose father was Thomas Elder. I have about 30 other names of kin and marriage partners. The 4th generation John Elder (B 9-2-1820)was a partner with Michael Jordan in a store in Harlensberg, Pa. Michael Jordan is the brother of Henry Jordan Jr. Henry's granddaughter married William Carlon McConnell. The families lived on adjacent farms. Another cross tie is that Dorcas Wilken (B 1821) married William Elder and their daughter Hannah married John Elder McConnell. The Wilkens family were married into the Harlan, Orr, and Water families. My grandmother Belma Lockwood Waters (Nov 23,1888) maried John William McConnell Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
