The four children were by William Reynolds. It appears that Max and Isabelle may have taken the McConnell name, but I don't know if they were adopted by Fred. Ward kept the Reynolds name and Max Hall Reynolds was married to Florence G Frederick on 26 of June 1915, but is found in the census as Max McConnell. Will use the information you provided to see what I can find on Robert and Isabelle. Do you have any other information on the children? 3. Diane, Kirsten just answered some of your questions about getting to the Clan Donald dna site through Family Tree DNA. They also have a DNA site. Go to dna-project.clan-donald-usa.org I'd like to see someone start a McConnell DNA group. I'm not the one to do it, however I would help. This is new to me, and you have to learn a whole new language. John > John - > Would you please send me the link to the Clan Donald group... my late > husband was 1st Lt. William E. 3. Diane, John, and other fellow McConnell researchers, I was just exploring the familytreedna site, which has a description of the Clan Donald project and a link to the Clan Donald project website. Below you'll find the link to the former. You can go from there to the project website and see and compare results. This is much more information than I recall finding on the site before, but maybe I just missed it. If the link doesn't work, just go to familytreedna.com and you can find it under Y-DNA surname projects under Donald USA or by looking for projects including the name McConnell. http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.aspx?code=F86325&special=True&projecttype=S Kirsten On Fri, 27 Apr 2007 21:39:03 -0400, Diane S wrote > John - > Would you please send me the link to the Clan Donald group... my > late husband was 1st Lt. 2. Thank you! I didn't look outside of the immediate area. The notation from the 1920 census of "clergyman-Methodist Episcopal" is consistent with him conducting a funeral at the East Greenwich church. 1. [McConnell] Rev. Thomas McConnell, Savannah, Ohio
    2. The records of the first VanScoy-Knapp reunion, held October 10, 1907, near Nova, Ashland County, Ohio, refers to "Rev. McConnell of Savannah" Ohio. Here are excerpts from the minutes: Rev. McConnell of Savannah then offered Prayer. . . . Mrs T L Mc Connall sang a solo the Old barn window ??? which was fine. While she sang T W Fancher took a Collection to defray the expenses. Mrs Emma Hale then read a partial history of the Vanscoy & Knapp familys which was very interesting. after reading of this history Rev T L McConnall sang a very touching sole Your Mothers apron string . . . . it was then moved and seconed that Rev and Mrs T L McConnell be accepted as Honorary members. . . . Saved by his grace was then sang by Rev and Mrs McConnell followed by a short prayer by Mrs Geo Ford. Rev Mc Connell then dismissed us by the Benediction. . . . " They also are mentioned in the minutes of the 1909 reunion. I've found the following the following family in Village of Savannah, Clear Creek Tonwship, Ashland County, Ohio, in the 1910 census. McConnell, Thomas L, head, m w 46 m1 18, Ohio Ohio Ohio, own income " Kathleen, wife, f w 42 m1 18, mother of 2 children both living, Massachusetts Massachusetts Massachusetts " Carl, son, m 2 15 s, Ohio Ohio Massachusetts Ralph T, son, m w 13 s, Ohio Ohio Massachusetts I have not yet found them in the 1900 or 1920 census records. The 1910 obituary of Rachell Ann (Bennett) ( Van Scoy) Ford says "The funeral services were held at East Greenwich Church conducted by Rev. T. L. McConnell of Savannah. " I'd like to know more about Rev. McConnell. I'm especially interested in learning whether he was the pastor of the East Greenwich Church, which I think was a Methodist church also known as the Nineveh Church in Greenwich Township, Huron County, Ohio. That congregation long ago disbanded and the building was torn down. The cemetery remains and is known as the Nineveh Cemetery. I have seen the monument for Rachel Ford in that cemetery. 3. John - Would you please send me the link to the Clan Donald group... my late husband was 1st Lt. William E. McConnell, so our son, Michael McConnell Sanfilippo is a McConnell from the Joseph McConnell Rev soldier b. Ireland or Scotland Unknown d. abt 1840 Georgia. m. Mary McCurdy b. abt 1763 Rathlin Island, Antrim, Ireland... through his son, James b. 14 Apr 1795 Elbert County, Ga. d. 29 Nov 1859 Clayton County, Ga. m. Mary Virginia 'Polly' Neely... Has anyone from this group tested yet? Thanks Diane S. Sanfilippo -----Subject: Re: [McConnell] DNA Kirsten, The Clan Donald group is the one I went through in Family Tree DNA to get my Y-DNA taken. I got a match with the brother of the person I had been corresponding with for several years while researching our McConnell line. Our common ancestor goes back 6 generations. This was a good conformation of much of the work we had done on this family. I would still like to know if there is a separate McConnell group in place.
