I am trying the "shotgun" approach trying to ferret out Robert McClain who lived in Pennsylvania, perhaps Fayette County, at the time of the birth of his daughter Mary in 1782. Robert signed for Mary's marriage to David Shoemaker (Shumacher) in the area of Brock's Gap in Rockingham Co., VA, in 1803 and then at some point after that the young marrieds removed to Ross County, OH. I cannot find Robert after that. Kathy
