I am Gertrude McClain Dodson and I come from Captain John McClain (1760-1844) who was born in Pennsylvania. I saw your query in RootsWeb dated Aug. 6, 2000. This family migrated to Rutherford County, N.C., S.C. and Georgia. I did not see in my family the names you mentioned in the query, but wondered if our families are connected. Also, I wondered if you are familiar with the line of McClains who lived in Abbeville District of S.C. I will be happy to exchange information. Would love to hear from you.
