I am Gertrude McClain Dodson and I come from Captain John McClain (1760-1844) who was born in Pennsylvania. Also, I know where he is buried. In fact, I have been working in that cemetery since 1980, trying to reclaim it from the forest. I saw your query in RootsWeb dated Sept.16, 2000 concerning John McClain of Rabun County, Ga. That is the same as above and my ancestor. This family migrated to Rutherford County, N.C., S.C. and Georgia. I wondered if our families are connected. I will be happy to exchange information.
