I've been curious about the McLains found in Henry County, etc. in West TN. You should probably just email me re the McLain line in Weakley County, TN. A lot of documentation has been gathered (by a couple researchres) but it is not yet proven. We now have a small group of McLain researchers who are trying hard to close the gaps. One of the researchers lives in Weakley County, TN---others live here and there. Some know they are related to the Weakley county McLains--a Charles and a George,--- but some of us are not sure. I first found my Charles born about 1804 to 1809---(found 1850 census in Lawrence County, AR with wife Perlina and children Christianna, David, John Henry and Squire)---and it is possible he could be related to the Charles of Weakley County (1830 and 1840 census) What is interesting is that two names appearing in my line (Christianna and Squire) appear in land records in KY and IL for the line that came to Weakley County, TN and some later went to Arkansas.
