Literally everybody mention, as well as their parents, are from South Carolina. McLANE, a jailor by occupation age 45, b about 1875 There are 4 Murdock households: The 2 above I gave you and also: just below John Henry and Annie is . . . MURDOCK, Calvin, b about 1880, age 40 wife Eula B. age 36 Laura E. MURDOCK, age 78, widow, SC is in the household of: James R. TUCKER, age 67 and wife Elizabeth D. age 59. Laura is the mother in law of James, so is the mother of Elizabeth D. Children: Jimmie J. daughter, age 23 and there is another MURDOCK indexed as MARDOCH but I think it does say Murdock--in Abbeville, Diamond Hill twp, Dist 8. John D. MARDOCH / MURDOCK, age 70 and wife Lula age 58 . . . all SC ------------------------ The other researcher who responded here is also researching lines in Abbeville . . . and has found John Henry and Annie in earlier years and what seems to be John Henry in 1880 at age 2 in what might be his parent's household. And also says there is a World Connect tree with the family . . . that is a free search at Rootsweb . . . so I'll take a look and you can also look at it. Now that we have located them, do you need me to get the data from earlier census?
