Will of Abner Barnett, signed 17 Sep 1831, proved 21 Mar 1834. Bedford Co PA Will Book 3, page 50. In the name of God, amen. I, ABNER BARNET, Senior*, of the County of Bedford and State of Pennsylvania, being weak of body but strong mind and memory, and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time when, do make this my last will and testament as follows, to wit, that is to say: After my decease I commit my body to the dust by decent burial and my soul to God, Who gave it, and, as infavored by goods, I do bequeath them in the following manner: I will unto ELIZABETH BARNET, late ELIZABETH McCLAIN, to her five children one dollar to each of them. Also, to MARTHA BARNET, late STEVENS, the sum of ten dollars. Also, to HANNAH BARNET I leave one loom and one cow, bed and bedding. Also, I leave unto MARY BARNET one cow, and bed and bedding. Also, I will one half of my real estate, that is the land, unto HANNAH and MARY BARNET. MARY BARNET is to have her living of the clear land as long as she remains single. Also, I will unto ABNER BARNET, my son, the one half of all my land. Also, it is my desire that, after my just debts are all paid, if there shall remain any of my personal estate, it shall be equally divided betwixt HANNAH BARNET, MARY BARNET and ABNER BARNET. My desire is that my son, ABNER BARNET, and BENJAMIN STEVENS shall be my executors and no one else. I do declare and pronounce this my last will and testament, revoking all others made by me heretofore. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-one. /s/ABNER BARNET {seal} Witness(es) present: WILSON McCLAIN, WM.
