I am also looking for McClain families in grant co ind.there are so many of them in the same co. that I wonder if all are related . my ggrandmother Julie ann McKnight b.1837 m.John McClain dont know his d o b. i have found them in the 1870 census. they had several children. william -oliver -sally -minnie- and hattie my grandmother. there could be more but thats all I know of.
