I have compiled a book of Pioneer’s of Medina County, Ohio and remembered that I have seen this name in my search for my book. This book covers newspaper articles, wedding, deaths, mini biographies, court records, cemetery records for most of the cemeteries in Medina Co., and much more.. from as early as 1830’s to 1911. Although I am bound by certain rules by my publisher, I will send along the names of those who are listed. Charles O., Emma A., Harold E., Harry A., Laura E. and Lois F. If you are interested in the book or would like me to look up another surname for you please let me know. Good luck in your search….I know I have spent hours just to find one piece of my family tree puzzle. Beverly Elizabeth

Hi I am researching the decedents of John and Isabella McCLAIN. I show that John was born in or around Ohio Co, VA about 1742. I show that he died there on or about May 1813. One child I'm particularly interested in - Archibald McCLAIN born 08 Feb 1771 possibly PA. Archibald removed eventually to Wayne Co. IN and finally to Delaware Co. IN where he died 05 Apr 1851. He was buried in the Ashenfelter Cemetery, Union Twp, Delaware Co. IN, along with his wife Rhoda Jane DEWEY. One daughter Jane b. about 1818 in Wayne Co, (named for Archibald's sister Jane) married David LYKINS (spelled LYKINGS on the marriage records) on 13 Jun 1838 in Wayne Co.. Both Jane and David died in Delaware Co. IN. Questions? 1. Who was Isabella and who were her parents? 2. I show Rhoda DEWEY'S parents as being Richard DEWEY and Catherine UNKNOWN, I would love additional information on this family. 3. What was John McCLAIN's ancestry? I do have a lot of information on the Archibald McCLAIN family and would be happy to exchange information. Tom Non magni pendis quia contigit! "One does not value things easily attained!"

I think the reference to Decatur, Macon County, Georgia should read Illinois, as it does further down. Macon County and Decatur, Georgia are not near each other. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Worsley" <conshir@mstar2.net> To: <McClain-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2003 12:03 PM Subject: [McClain] Michael McClain or McLean > Looking for the parents and siblings for Michael McClain born about 1823 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
