He was born in Newark, Ohio, and served in the Navy during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughters, Sheila Schworm, Mandy Smith, Rosemary Mote and Georgia Eskridge; sons, Charles McClain II, Dennis McClain and Bruce Allen McClain; sister, Linda Kraugner of Ohio; brothers, George McClain and Ronald McClain, both of Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Inurnment: 10 a.m. Thursday, Singing Hills Memorial Park, 2800 Dehesa Road, El Cajon. Arrangements: Bayview Memorial Funeral Home. Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 3/19/2004. I have found Esther McClain married Farrar and lived next door to John Mc Clane, listed as Clane in 1850 Nelson County Census. Euphias married William Henderson but I can't find him either. I thought perhaps they went some where together. I am related to Richard McClain son of James and his wife Mary McClain daughter of Henry.I will have to look for William. Linda

She was born August 29, 1919, in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Garden City, Long Island. She was a graduate of Friends Academy and Connecticut College. Mrs. McClain lived for many years in Pepper Pike, Cleveland, Ohio and was a member of St. Christopher ' s Episcopal Church, Cleveland Skating Club, Chagrin Valley Racquet Club, Hillbrook Club. She moved to La Jolla, Calif. in 1971, and was a member of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Social Service League, St. James Episcopal Church. Mrs. McClain volunteered at St. Luke ' s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, Humane Society of San Diego, Calif., Greater La Jolla Meals-on-Wheels. She is survived by her son Michael P. McClain, daughter-in-law Patricia McClain of Englewood, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer Missildine and Margaret McClain both of Bridgeport, West Virginia; Lindsey Safenovitz of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Christopher Griffith of Key West, Fla., great-grandc! hildren Nathaniel, Charlie, Mattie and Camryn Rose. Memorial services will be Thursday, April 17, 2003, at 3 p.m. at St. David ' s Episcopal Church, Englewood, Fla. I saw the children that you named in the U.S. Census. I did find Catherine McClain Burnett in the 1850, 1860, 1870 U.S. Census. Since she was boarding in the 1870 Census they just thought she was born in KY and they guessed her age but I am sure that it is her. I didn't find Mary in the census past 1850 with John. I sure will let you know if I find out more. Barbara

Priscilla and Alexander DeVilbiss had seven children: Lemuel DeVilbiss, born - April 12, 1810; William DeVilbiss, born - November 15, 1811; Mary Ann DeVilbiss, born - May 26, 1814; Alexander DeVilbiss, Jr., born - August 08, 1816; John Wesley DeVilbiss, born - August 28, 1818; and Elizabeth Rebecca DeVilbiss, born - July 06, 1821. I do not know who Priscilla McClain's parents were or her exact date of birth and death, or the names of her siblings.
