Marlen, Since you have done extensive research on the McCauley line , I have a question.My "deadend" McCauley is John mcCauley born ca 1800 ,in N.C. (according to 1850 census Ark.)He states his father was born in Ireland but no name is given. He migrated to Tenn ca. 1815 (maybe with an uncle). About 1833 in Tenn he married Sarah Ann"Sally" Cheatham born Va. 1817, daughter of Bartley Cheatham &Jane Walker their first 2 children were born in Tenn 1832-38, then they migrated to Randolph co. Ark where 5 more children were born. 3 of their children intermarried with children of Don C. Sally( Phillips) Moore. D.C. was son of John &Eleanor(Marbury)Moore. Here is my question.Have you come across this family of McCauleys in your research? Who was the parents of John McCauley? What County in N.C. was he from?
