My Grandmother also from New York. Don't know if you have already discovered any information, which may or may not match what I can give you. You didn't mention area from or year born, etc., heres what I can tell you. My Grandmother was born in January 1884 and llived most of her life in New York City area. Her husband's name was James (Jim). If anything here sounds close, perhaps I can help with more info.
