There were a large number of McCauley's who settled in Clarion Co., PA. Think there was an irish settlement there. My gggrandmother sold her property to a Samuel McCauely. I am looking for McCauley's from Antrim Ireland. Brothers John b abt 1817 and William b abt 1815. Wm came to US abt 1840's and settled in Elizabethtown, Ky. John came with wife Rachel in 1848 with sons Wm b 1845 and Daniel b 1843. John died six weeks after arriving iin Elizabethtown, Ky. The only clue I have is Rachel's bible that says Rachel, Wm and Daniel were born in Antrim, Ireland. In census records John is listed sometimes as being born in Scotland and sometimes Ireland.
