I am searching for the parents of JOHN McCAULEY (aka McAuley, McAuly, etc), born about 1816 in Ireland, and emigrated to Grey County, Ontario. He later moved to Bruce County, and eventually to Hallam Township Algoma district. The following is Genealogy Report of John and his children. I noticed an inquiry about the McCauley surname in Augusta Co., Virginia and was wondering if anyone has information on Robert McCauley/McColly who married in 1794 in Augusta C., Virginia Margaret Jane Carson. She had died by 1815 when he married Margaret Gandy a widow. I notice you mention a Joseph McCauley and you mention Augusta Co. Can this be the relative of one of Robert's brothers? I have this Robert McCauley as passing away in Lewis Co., Virginia/West Virginia about 1838 and children John - Mary Ann - Andrew - Sarah - Frances by marriage #1.
