Looking for info on Edward McCauley (1868-1910). Parents: Nicholas and Rosana (McClane) McCauley.
I will try to find some more info about my grandfather's brothers. There has only been info passed down from relatives, most of whom are no longer living. My sister is looking for names also. The family lived arounf the Richmond area of MI. My sister is going to Detroit and will be looking at the Latter Day Saints info there. Will let you know. Maybe there is a connection!
I ordered pension papers for William McCauley born 1845 in Antrim, Ireland. I believe he was the only McCauley in Hart Co area. I know he was a blacksmith so I thought he was exempt from service to help calvary and farmers. The papers I got back say he was born in Wayne Co, Ohio. Now I don't know if this is my William and our Bible info is wrong or if it is another William. John McCauley came to US with his wife Rachel and sons William and Daniel in 1848. He died six week after arrival. They came to Elizabetown, Ky to be near old William who was John's brother. Rachel remarried in 1852 and moved to Barren Co. My William 1845 was a sheriff, grocery owner and blacksmith. He had many appretices. He lived in Hart Co., Ky Would like to know if my William is from Ohio or Ireland.
thank you for responding. I don't think any of my relatives are from the Washington area. One thing I have found is that there are thousands of McCauley's! My grandfather had several brothers and sisters, but many did not have children. I believe they were from the eastern side of Michigan. He then moved to the Warren Ohio area. I believe even his parents were born in the US
After reading the two emails about the McCauleys in Washington and Michigan, I thought maybe I needed to share a little about my McCauleys. My McCauleys came from Antrim County, Ireland to Ontario, Canada and then were in Saginaw County, MI and then some moved to Detroit area. There were also some in Oakland County, MI. My branch of the McCauleys (my grandfather, John Joseph McCauley) went to Okanogan County, Washington. Then some of that branch ended up in Seattle although many stayed in Eastern Washington. Does this sound familiar to either of you? Barbara (McCauley) Lovejoy Marlenedeb@aol.com wrote: > thank you for responding. I don't think any of my relatives are from the > Washington area. Carl, Unfortunately I do not have any of this in my computer only a "hard" copy which I will be glad to mail you a copy if you give me your address. (I have sent out others) I am going to someday get this all on my computer when I can find the time. Mary McCauley was the first born to James & Isabel McCauley, (born July 20,1777) which would make her in her early 20's if she married in 1801. Her father James was in the Rev. War (said to be a Lieutenant) Could have been a Cpt. I suppose, I guess no one really knows for sure. I believe they lived around Amherst, N.H. Let me know, I'll help if I can. Thanks Sarah
