    2. Hal, I get all the John's mixed up. What I have guessed is that 1. Barney McCauley and Ann Miller had son 1752, 2. John McCauley - wife unknown who had son 1780 3. John McCauley -wife unknown who had son, 1807 4. John McCauley - another unknown wife who had daughter, 1830 5. Mary Helen McCauley and she married Ezekiel Boulden on Feb. 26, 1823 So I have too many unknown wives. There could be other possibilities, too. Do you have wives and children for any of the above? Do you have Mary Helen anywhere? Thank you for anything. Lloyd Hal McCawley wrote: > > Lloyd, I have considerable data on this Barney [aka Brian?] McCAULEY including a list of 8 ch & some grandch. 2. My William H. McCauley lived in Macon County, Tennessee - Monroe/Allen County, Kentucky. Barren County borders both Monroe and Allen County. I have not researched my McCauley line much. I know that he fought for the Confederate army in the Civil War and died a poor man. He married Jane Jones and had 3 daughters. Sarah and Mary were 2 daughters that I don't know much about. Ova(ie) Belle, my greatgrandmother, was born 26 April 1888 and married Smith Barlow Vaughn. She had 12 children and died 2 January 1933. Any further information would be appreciated. Chad Reagan

    1. Re: [MCCAULEY] Re: McCauley''s
    2. Which McCauleys? We're looking for information on children of Robert D. and Jane McCauley (McAuley). Robert was born in Ireland, Jane in Pennsylvania. They had the following children: Esther, John, Thomas, Emeline, James, William, Robert, Jane, Alice, Fred, Arthur, and Ella. Thomas is my husband's grandfather, born in 1849 in Sullivan County, New York. The family moved to Saxeville Township in Wisconsin. Thomas served in the Civil War, married three times, and had six children. His marriage to Olive M. Morgan produced three sons - Jay who died in childhood, George (born1-8-1870), and Curtis (born 2-16-1871) in Wisconsin. His second marriage to Eliza Chapman was childless. His third marriage, in Oak Grove, Jackson County, Missouri, on 5-29-1887, to Mary L. Perkins produced three children - a daughter, Jessie, born 4-8-1888, and two sons, Frederick Thomas, born 9-17-1891, died 9-17-1971, and Roy, or Royal, born 9-7-1895. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    2. If you are going to Detroit, you might want to check out the Burton Historical Collection located at the main branch of the Detroit Public Library. Library is on the campus of Wayne State University on Woodward Avenue. Excellent, helpful genealogical library that emphasizes Detroit and Michigan, and extends to neighboring states.

    1. [MCCAULEY] William McCauley in North Carolina
    2. Hi All, Hoping you can help us with our brick wall. William W. Colonel McCauley born in Orange county NC. Per family, 'Colonel' is one of his middle names. Located on 1910 census, Hillsborough Twp, Orange Co., with wife Alice (Pearson) son Albert M, and daughter "Lillie B." which we think may have been Lizzie B. Per that census, this William was born about 1860. His wife, Alice, in 1965. William died between 1910 and 1916. His wife is listed as "widowed" on her death record of 1916. Per 1870 census, Orange County, NC., this William could have been the child of Matthew McCauley Jr., son of Matthew and Martha (Johnston) McCauley. Appreciate any information that can be given concerning this William, and his family. Nora
