    3. OJim¹ DONER Honored by Public Officials 3 Feb 1916 ­ Brooklyn Daily Standard Union Veteran Custodian of County Court House Given Testimonial Dinner. Gets Diamond Watch Fob. Presented by POUNDS for Corridor Club. "Jim" DONER, who for nearly thirty years has been custodian of the County Courthouse, was given a testimonial dinner last night by the members of the Corridor Club, after a theatre party. Among those at the guest table were Borough President Louis H. POUNDS, Register E. T. O¹LOUGHLIN, County Judge Robert H. ROY, A.E. VASS, J.A. LIVINGSTON, County Clerk William E. KELLY, Commissioner of Public Works Edmund W. VOORHIES. After an address, in which he praised the fidelity of DONER to his position and to his friends, Borough President POUNDS on behalf of the club, presented DONER with a diamond studded watch fob. McCAULY left home to look fo employment. He was a plasterer. His relatives never saw nor heard of him after he went away. He was 40 years of age.     3. BROOKLYN UNION MAY 13, 1882 THE FAMILY TROUBLES OF THE ROSTS--A WIFE THAT PRAYS FOR A SEPARATION FROM HER HUSBAND. Suit has been commenced in the City Court by MAGARETHA ROST for a separation from her husband MICHAEL ROST. The parties were married in this city on July 3, 1870. Mrs. ROST avers that about a year after the marriage her husband abused her, and that on July 16, 1881, he struck her on the head. She further alleges that ROST is of ungovernable temper and has threatened to kill her with a knife. The parties have one child and thplaintiff, through her counsel, FRANK OBERNEIER, asks that its custody be awarded to her. No answer has yet been filed. He was one of the early founders of Louisville, Illinois. Had a sister named Sarah Jane McCauley that married David F. Brewer. William S. McCauley was married to Mary "Pop" Willis. They had Chainey, Mary Jane, Fanny, Levi, Theodore and Evert as children. (I may have forgotten one or two). Levi, Theodore and Evert left Illinois for Arkansas about 1900 to seek their fortune growing Rice. Thanks for any help, Bob
