Anyway....I descend from this Edgefield Co., SC McCARTY line through Michael, Sr, born: abt. 1728 in Ireland, Michael, Jr., Edward, Alford, Hyram/Hiram, and Martha Ann Caroline McCARTY, (think that's right order,) and her husband, William Tunley JONES through their daughter, Rodella JONES, who married Cicero Lamkin HATTEN/HATTON, and their daughter, Ethel Rosalee HATTEN/HATTON (first husband, Joseph Marion WOMACK,) who married Louis Hector SLAUGHTER, born: abt. 1870, my grandparents. (These families were out of Winn Parish, Winnsboro, and then West Carroll Parish, Louisiana by the 1940's.) Louis Hector SLAUGHTER was the son of Hudson H. SLAUGHTER, born: 1844 in Greene/Pickett Co., AL, and married Clarissa WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1845, parents: William WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1795 in Maryland, and his wife: Elizabeth WILLIAMS, born in Ohio, and they lived in Franklin Parish, Louisiana. SLAUGHTER, born: abt. 1795 in NC, (son of Owen SLAUGHTER, Jr. and his wife, Mary McDONALD,) and Hudson's wife, Susan CROUCH, born: 1815 in NC, daughter of Sarah ? and Samuel CROUCH, born: abt. 1785 in NC.
