His mother in law was a Shelton: Mary Anna, b 1844/5 in VA. Her husband was Sam Crites, also from VA. The McCartys later moved to Tarrant Co. TX, where some also owned a hotel. Mary Anna Shelton's parents were Tom Shelton, and Lizzie Owens. Terri, do you have more on the Sheltons, as that is about all I have.
