    3. Dear McCartys Again, I have been going through all of my old xeroxes and came across an article: Cornelius McCarty and Judith Rowland of Bucks County, Pennsylvania by George E. McCracken in The American Genealogist, July 1971. The magazine that I copied the article out of was located in the Green County Public Library in Springfield MO in the Genealogy and Local History Area. In an email that I sent several days ago I called Judith the sister of Nicholas Corsen. He was according to the article her brother in law. He married Mary Rowland on November 23, 1724 in the Abington Presbyterian Church then in Philadelphia County now in Montgomery Co Pa. This article postulates that Cornelius McCarty and Judith Rowland probably had 5 children. They are in no certain order: 1. Cornelius McCarty, mentioned in 1737 in John Evans will. John Evans was his stepfather. 2. John McCarty of Haycock Township who wrote his will April 24, 1766 and that will was probated August 22, 1766. His wife was Ann and he named a brother Nicholas McCarty. He had daughters not named and sons but only named one, Nicholas McCarty who was under 18. 3. Nicholas, named as living brother in the 1766 will of John McCarty. Was in all likelihood named for Nicholas Corsen (Croesen) his uncle, who had married Mary Rowland, sister of Judith Rowland McCarty Evans Vansant. 4. Margaret who married at Abington Presbyterian Church on December 17, 1742 Henry Breece. 5. Daniel McCarty married Olive Titus, when of Bucks County, by New Jersey License. The license is dated 25 Oct. 1733 This article also quotes Clarence Vernon Roberts, book Early Friends Families of Upper Bucks. He said it is probable that Cornelius, Silas, and Edward McCarty of Haycock township, and Dennis McCarty of Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey were the children of John Mecarty of Piscataway and Ann Harmon of Woodbridge, both of which were in New Jersey and who were married by New York license which was dated July 9, 1684. There are other things in the article which those of you who are interested in this family should read and consider. I believe that you can order copies of articles through the library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You might call or email them. The article has 8 pages which if they will lay flat to xerox would be four sheets of paper. Janice Severns
