According to a news story printed June 6, 1930 in the Noblesville Daily Ledger in Indiana, she was the oldest of 11 children of Effie Fillhour and Lewis McCarty. She was born in Clermont Co. Ohio and when she was 15 the family moved to Walnut Grove, Ind. This is either Hamilton Co. or Madison Co. Indiana. She married Elisha Holloway in 1860. She was 92 years old when this interview took place and it is stated that she had a living brother named Peter near Lapel Ind. and a sister Elizabeth Webb of Anderson Ind. When she died 3/27/1931, the funeral was handled by the McCarty Funeral Home in Lapel, Indiana (Relation?) Is anyone familiar with this family. I have been unable to find any of these McCartys online.
