Does anyone on this list connect through a Jacob McCARTY who was born in NC about 1797? I do not know his parents , sibs or wife's maiden name. He married Nancy ______ also born in NC. Part of their known children were born in NC and part in OH. In 1830 OH census I find 2 Jacob McCARTY's . I think that Jacob in Montgomery Co. could be is mine. In Montgomery Co, OH there is one Jacob McCarty with hh of -- males two 5 to 10 & one 30 to 40; females two unter 5, one 5 to 10, & one 20 to 30 In Champaign Co,OH there are four McCARTY's on page 24 & one on 33 James McCarty one males 30 to 40 & one male 40 to 50 (page 33) page 24 (in order they are on page) Jese McCarty - males one under 5, one 20 to 30; females two under 5, one 20 to 30 Edward McCarty - one male 20 to 30 & females one under 5, one15 to 20 Cornelius McCarty - males three under 5, two 5 to 10, one 30 to 40; females one 20 to 30 Jacob McCarty - males one 10 to 15, two 15 to 20, one 60 to 70; females one 15 to 20 and one 20 to 30 Samuel McCarty -males one 5 to 10, two 10 to15, one 30 to 40; females one under 5, two 5 to10, one 40to50 My Michael SR. b (abt 1823) and his wife Melinda Elizabeth_____ (b abt 1819) were born in NC. By 1850 they were in GA working as a Collier, brotherJames (17 yrs old) McCarty was also living in his household. None of their children were born in GA. four were born in AL between 18 52 and 1858. Have not found where they were living in AL 1852 - 18 59 In 1860 three McCarty families move to Craighead Co. Ark. They were; Jacob McCARTEY 63, wife Nancy 59, Nancy 30 b OH, Margaret 15 b NC. also in his hh Jacob OVERCAST 15 b NC J. A. DOMERAL/DAMERAL 4 B NC, and William WEAR 14 b SC. (do not know relationships of last three) James McCARTEY 27 b OH wife Sarah b NC in hh Jane WELLS 26 b OH (sister), David WELLS 5 b NC, Sarah 2 b NC. Michael McCARTEY 33 b NC wife Melinda E. 38 b NC, Nancy M 16 b NC, Elizabeth C. 14 b NC, Ninerva 13 b NC, Levi 11 b NC, Jacob L. 8 AL, Michael C. 7 b AL(my gggrand), James F 6 b AL, Infant 2 b AL 1860 census is the only place that I have found their name to be spelled with "ey" I would greatly appreciate hearing for anyone who is doing research on any of the above families.
