Thanks to those who reminded me of the importance of adding dates when I put out a name query.... We are looking at the time from of 1796-1875 -- John McCarty - born about 1796 we think. He was the father of Henry McCarty born 7 March 1829 in Lancaster Co. PA. We believe John was married to Mary Palmer or Parmer, born abt. 1800. This family was I think in the Upper Leacock area of Lancaster Co. Henry McCarty married Sarah Anne Zellers 8 Jan. 1854. Their children who were born in Lancaster Co. were: Lemuel b. 1854; Susanna b. 1856; Daniel b. 1858; Amanda b. 1860; and Sarah Ellen b. 1862. This family traveled by covered wagon to Indiana. We don't know the location in Indiana where they stopped -- nor for how long. They continued on to Illinois, settling in Sterling, Illinois. Hopefully these dates might help someone who is doing research on this family. Would like details of any of the siblings of Henry McCarty -- they are: Children of John and Mary McCarty John Jr. b. 1828 Henry b. 1829 Susannah b. 1832 Margaret b. 1836 Sophia b. 1838 William b. 1841 Amos b. 1846 We believe all these children were born in Lancaster Co. Does anyone have any McCarty/Hall connections? My g grandfather was Henry McCarty Hall. I believe McCarty was a family surname sometime earlier. Henry was born in 1849.
