Author: JoniRabena Surnames: McCann Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.mccann/1872/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, I'm going to jump into the McCann Canada group and hope someone can add to this for me. 1851 Census, Hibbert, Perth South, Ontario Hugh McCann, 60 Arthur, 23, wife Catherine, son, Thomas, 3 months John, 25, wife Catherine, son, Peter, 3 months Patrick, 20 I believe Hugh is (1) Arthur, (2) John, and (3) Patrick's father. (1) Arthur and Catherine's children include: Thomas, Hugh, Mary, Patrick, Catherine, Ann Jane, Johannah, John W., Joseph Arthur, Michael, Thomas and Theresa. Arthur and Catherine moved to Lisbon, North Dakota around 1885. Arthur died in 1896. Catherine was in the 1910 census with her son, John, and her daughter, Mary, in Greenville, La Moure, North Dakota. I have a lot of information on this family. (2) John married a Catherine Unknown. Their children include: Peter, b. 1851; John, b. 1852; James, b. 1854; and Hugh, b. 1856. (2) John died in Hibbert, South Perth, Ontario in 1883. Catherine was on the 1911 Canadian Census at age 80 in Seaforth, Huron South, Ontario. I don't believe they ever lived in North Dakota. Their son, Peter, married a Sarah Unknown. They had at least one daughter, Mary (1891). Their son, James, married a Mary Ann Unknown and had at least one child, John James (1891) in Ontario. I haven't been able to track John and Hugh. (3) Patrick - I have not been able to trace. I'm hoping perhaps that the above John and Patrick had descendants that remained in Canada. I live in Calgary, AB, and I know that some of (1) Arthur's descendants died in Lethbridge, Alberta. If anyone is interested in this, please contact me.
