I too am very interested in the NA aspect of the McCanns. One of my multiple great grandmothers was Anne McCann b ca 1793 South Carolina m a Milam (not looking at tree, can't remember which one, possibly Samuel). I have found a picture of their daughter Mahulda Jane Milam (she married Wiley Patton).There is no doubt from her picture of the Native American heritage. She looks Choctaw! I am writing you hoping to correspond and see if my tree may tie in with yours..at this juncture I believe Anne's father to be James, considering Anne named their first son James. Mahulda and Wiley ended up in Arkansas. That branch of Milams settled in Northern Arkansas fairly close to old Shawnee Town, now known as Yellville. I don't think this by accident, and I do not believe in coincidence.
